REMOVE LAMPS FROM ORIGINAL FIXTURE.
STARTING AT END OF ROW, LOCATE POWER DROP.
FROM ABOVE CEILING, DISCONNECT INCOMING POWER TO ORIGINAL
FIXTURE ROW. EITHER BY DRILLING A 7/8" DIA HOLE IN THE EXISTING
FIXTURE OR REMOVING A LAMPHOLDER. DROP INCOMING POWER
SUPPLY TO ROOM SIDE OF FIXTURE FOR LATER CONNECTION TO RETROFIT
KIT.
INSTALL MOUNTING HARDWARE BRACKETS ON HORIZONTAL
FLANGES OF T-BAR MAIN RUNNERS:
ONE BRACKET AT (24" FOR 8') (12"
FOR 4' & 6') (8" FOR 3') IN FROM EACH END OF FIXTURE INSTALL
SUPPLEMENTAL SUPPORT STRAP
AN INSTALLATION GAGE IS PROVIDED TO ASSIST IN LOCATING THE
BRACKETS (GAGES ARE MARKED
AS 8FT,6FT, 4FT AND 3FT FOR RESPECTIVE
VERSIONS) , BUT THE INSTALLER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR
ACCURATE LOCATION PER
THE DIMENSIONS SHOWN IN FIG.3. AFTER VERIFYING ACCURATE LOCATION, (WHICH
INCLUDES CENTERING THE BRACKET ACROSS THE NOMINAL ELEVEN INCH WIDE
OPENING) MECHANICALLY FASTEN BRACKET TO T-BAR WITH SELF DRILLING
SCREW THOUGH SLOT IN TAB OF BRACKET ON BOTH ENDS OF BRACKET
RAISE R220 UNIT TO CEILING, HOOK SAFETY CABLES ON BRACKETS
WITH 'S' HOOKS PINCH CLOSED.
CONNECT INCOMING POWER SUPPLY TO
APPROPRIATE CONDUCTORS OF THE PT-SYSTEM.
REPEAT STEPS 5 AND 6 ON SUCCEEDING UNITS, PLUGGING THE
PT-SYSTEMS (BRANCH CIRCUIT WIRES) TOGETHER IN THE PROCESS.
NOTE: CHECK POLARITY OF WIRES ON PT ASSEMBLY BEFORE
PLUGGING TOGETHER INSURE THAT
WIRE COLORS ARE SAME FROM MALE
CONNECTOR TO FEMALE CONNECTOR.
AFTER ANY TWO UNITS ARE PLUGGED TOGETHER. RAISE ASSEMBLY UP
TO T-BAR CEILING SO THAT STUDS ON MOUNTING HARDWARE PROTRUDE
THROUGH HOLES IN REFLECTOR AND SECURE IN PLACE WITH #10-24 HEX NUTS
PROVIDED.
NOTE: DO NOT USE POWERED TOOLS TO TIGHTEN HEX NUTS,
ONLY FINGER TIGHT.
SLIDE COUPLER INTO POSITION BETWEEN UNITS BY PUSHING ON THE
HEADS OF THE HEX HEADSCREWS IN THE SLOTS AT THE END OF THE UNIT. THIS
ALIGNS ONE KIT WITH THE NEXT.
INSTALL END CLOSURES ON THE END-OF-ROW KITS.
INSTALL LAMPS AND TURN ON POWER.
